Hi there,
I'm Sofia, a visual and digital product designer invested in creating products that make humans feel heard.
With a desire to help people, I studied nutrition at UC Berkeley and entered the healthcare industry as a clinical dietitian at UCSF Medical Center in the Bay Area. This is where I learned so much about what it means to care for people from all walks of life, think critically, and back up my decisions with evidence. I realized I wanted to broaden my impact by reimagining human journeys at the experience and systems-level, so I packed up my transferable skills, moved out of the Bay, and completed my Masters of Communication Studies at Parsons The New School. I am now designing for mental health at Grow Therapy, and very lucky to be surrounded by this talented community while growing as a designer and a human.
What I'd like to do more of
My fortes lie in owning craft and quality in every interaction and surface. I have strong visual, interaction, and prototyping skills, and love building 0-1 products. I am fast and precise at executing ideas, but the real fun for me lies in exploring the unknown, thinking big, and creating design strategy through vision work. I plan to continue to work with teams that align with me on various levels—most importantly mission, thoughtfulness in design, and the prospect of growth on both ends. Extra keen if it drives social impact!
