This page is a compilation of paintings I have made as gifts for loved ones and an exploration of emotion through the use of organic shapes and color.

When You Miss Me

"When You Miss Me" is a painting I made for my best friend for when he moves halfway across the country to pursue his dreams. I hope he knows that whenever he misses me, I'll be missing him too and that I would only wish to be sending him embraces like the one in the painting.

Blue Bodies

"Blue Bodies" is a collection of 12 paintings that explores the concept of isolation working together in unison. Each painting portrays a blue, isolated "body" — so isolated in fact (excuse the exaggeration) that each body melts into itself with nothing else around to lean or depend on. As a whole, however, the bodies seem to fit in as every other body is melting and dripping into itself as well.

Pumpkins

"Pumpkins" is a series of paintings of pumpkins and squashes I painted for my friend's mother. I chose to paint this family of fruits because I was drawn to their imperfect shapes and their little deformities. I also chose pumpkins because I found a sense of elegance in their form despite their crookedness. The tinge of color in each pumpkin highlights the beauty of each fruit, demonstrating an inner quirkiness in contrast to its imperfect exterior.
